Overview

The Undergraduate Scholars Program is a collaborative program involving Mastercard Foundation and the University of Gondar to create scholarship opportunities for Ethiopian youth to pursue undergraduate studies at the University of Gondar. The scholarships cover the academic and non-academic costs of scholars while they pursue their studies in various fields of studies. Over the 10-years duration, 290 undergraduate scholarships will be offered. In addition to covering tuition fee, accommodations, etc., the Scholars Program aims to provide training in areas where scholars might need support in life-skills, communication and social skills, entrepreneurial skills, etc.

Undergraduate scholarships (for Fall September 2021) Are now open for Ethiopian applicants who intend to be a full-time student at the University of Gondar.

Eligible applicants are Ethiopians and:

  • have a visual, hearing or mobility disability;
  • sat for the two most recent EHEECEs; and,
  • have the required scores on the EHEECE for entry to higher education institutions, either in Regular or Extension. 

Applicants will also be considered based on:

  • Financial need
  • leadership/community giveback experience or potential

Please note that undergraduate scholarships are not available for international students.
