It gives us sorrow to share with the University of Gondar Community about the recent passing of one of our Scholars. Abraham who is now being laid to rest in his home region of Gojam in a village called Gende Woyen had been sick from a severe lung complication. He had been hospitalized for 5 days last month because of the complication and again had relapsed this week and sadly passed away yesterday morning.
Abraham Temesgen a freshmen Social Science scholar had great potential and was on a path to chart his own destiny in the Scholars Program at UoG. Like so many other Scholars he had overcome a rigorous vetting process and had beaten out numerous applicants because of his great achievements. We are greatly saddened by this news. The MCF team would like to pass along our deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Abraham. He will have his funeral service tomorrow morning on the 26th of August 2021 in his hometown.
